8 ways Students can help to protect the environment

There are plenty of imbalances in the ecosystem due to human activities, which have led to global ecological problems like climate change, global warming, unsustainable waste accumulation, depletion of natural resources. It has also led to the extinction and endangering of various animal species. But we as students can take simple steps in our everyday lives and help to protect the environment.

1)Make E-Notes — Making notes has become an integral part of studying for students nowadays, but rather than noting it down on paper and buying lots of books, you can make electronic notes. There are various apps available to save E-notes. This will save a lot of papers from getting wasted after once used.

2) Practise Carpooling or walking -For short distances, avoid vehicles and practice walking or cycling. It will save fuel as well as has health benefits. Also, carpooling is another good way to reduce energy consumption.

3)Buy Less or Borrow — When you need things for one-time usage, borrow them from people around also, buy what you need it will eventually generate less waste. This will save money also things won't end up in landfills.

4)Use eco-friendly stationaries — Stationaries are essential for students substituting, normal ones with eco-friendly stationery can help reduce carbon emission to a great extent, which is a threat to the biosphere. Ex-BIOq

5) Host Eco-parties — Since I have known about sustainable living, I host my birthdays in a sustainable, manner. Finding eco stuff for parties is quite difficult but worth it, you can reuse all those stuff again. Also, plants are the most sustainable gifts, unlike others. Also, it is a natural air fresher, so it is an amazing present to gift someone.

6) Go Thrifting — These days thrifting business is trending a lot because of affordable prices and the aim to protect the environment. There are various thrift stores, online where you can buy gently used clothes at low prices also, you can sell your clothes at online thrifting stores. It helps the planet by reducing the chemical pollution induced by creating and buying new clothes.

7) Recycling — Whether paper products or old stuffs upcycling them is a great way to protect the environment. During this age, our creativity is at its peak. By making the right, use of it we, can protect our planet. It reduces the waste going into landfills and also minimizes the use of natural resources.

8) Spread the word — We can generate awareness amongst our family and friends about sustainable living. Stop your friends and family whenever you see their actions can be harmful to the environment. By taking small steps, we can bring an extraordinary result. We all know that we should use an adequate amount of water, turn off lights and electrical appliances when not in use, practice waste segregation, use fewer vehicles it is just that we have to bring it into action and generate awareness about the same. Together we can make a difference.
